Frequently asked questions
What is metadata and why is it risky?
It is service information that programs write into a file: who created it, when, how long it was edited, where a photo was taken. It is invisible in the text but visible in file properties, and it can reveal more than you intended.
Are my documents stored?
No. The demo processes a file in temporary storage and deletes the cleaned copy automatically, after 10 minutes by default. We do not read document contents.
Will the document break after cleaning?
Cleaning changes service fields, not content. Text, tables and images stay. For legacy DOC, XLS and PPT formats cleaning is best effort, so check the result.
Why “set my own author” instead of “remove everything”?
An empty author looks suspicious too. In this mode every authorship field gets the name you set and one company. All other traces are removed.
