The Ordinary Watercourse known as the Whitchurch Brook flows through the centre of Whitchurch and has been identified by CCC as one of four Ordinary Watercourses in Cardiff posing a significant flood risk to the city. The brook flows from Thornhill south through Whitchurch for approximately 2.5km with its lower 0.85km length from Heol Gabriel culverted until its outfall at the River Taff.
