New Lodge Extra Care Housing Scheme is a community set in its own grounds in the garden village of New Earswick, located 2.5 miles north of York’s historic city centre. New Lodge was opened by the Joseph Rowntree Trust (JRHT) in 2019, and is a purpose-built set of 105 extra care apartments and a registered care home (Rowntree Lodge). Extra Care schemes allow residents to live independently with the reassurance that staff are on site as required.
