Description
Network Rail have their own National SDH Network, managed by their Network Management Centre (NMC). The network allows Network Rail to carry and transmit voice, data, signalling and radio services to the operational railway for the support of safe train movements. There are plans for a renewal and replacement of this network. However, this will take many years to complete. The SDH equipment is End of Life (EoL) / End of Support (EoS).
